--- TECHNICAL SKILLS ---

1. SERVICE ORIENTED ARCHITECTURE (SOA):

a. I know how to develop, deploy, publish, and consume Web Services as well as Message Queues using WebSphere Studio Application Developer – Integration Edition v.5.1.1

b. I also work with WebSphere Business Process Designer to develop Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) v.1.1 solutions, and deploy them onto various J2EE servers

c. I can use open source projects such as ActiveBPEL and ActiveGrid

d. I use various J2EE Portal Servers to publish and consume Portlets using the Web Services for Remote Portlet (WSRP) standard


2. MODEL DRIVEN ARCHITECTURE (MDA):

a. I use Compuware OptimalJ 4.0 Architect Edition

b. I develop UML diagrams and produce 95% of J2EE code from UML

c. I am also able to use OptimalJ for Web Services, JCA, and MQ integration

d. I also work regularly with SteelTrace Catalyze Enterprise for Use Cases

e. I produce some UML diagrams automatically from Catalyze, import them into OptimalJ, and produce code from there

f. I combine MDA and SOA primarily to develop and implement model-centric Business Process Management (BPM) solutions


3. DEVELOPMENT METHODS:

a. I have used almost all the tools from Rational Software since 2002 onward

b. I am very familiar with the Rational Unified Process, as well as other unified process approaches, and Enterprise Architecture standards such as TOGAF and DODAF

c. I have some exposure to Extreme Programming and Test Driven Development

d. I have also been using the IBM e-business Patterns and many IBM Redbooks to run projects


4. PROGRAMMING ENVIRONMENTS:

a. Work with J2EE components, including Portlets, Web Services, and JMS

b. Use primarily Rational Application Developer, Eclipse, and Net Beans

c. Use many app servers, including Jboss/Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic

d. I am also very familiar with the LAMP platform (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and various open source applications/packages, which I teach regularly, and on which I run most of my own web sites (e.g., Mambo)

e. I have some experience with PERL, ASP and the .NET framework

f. I have also worked with Turbo C and various Unix shells, and regularly develop my own scripts for Linux maintenance


5. OPERATING SYSTEMS:

a. I am responsible to install and manage a lab of 25 Windows 2003 Servers

b. I am also able to install and manage RedHat Linux, both Fedora and Enterprise Server

c. I have worked with Sun Solaris, HP-UX, and Apple OS-X
